Nevada has given event spaces the greenlight to host conferences, conventions, trade shows and professional seminars with as many as 1,000 attendees, provided a venue is able to meet a stringent checklist of requirements.
Chief among these requirements is that a venue has the ability to separate an event's attendees into separate rooms, with each room holding no more than 250 individuals or 50% capacity, depending on whichever is less.
Additionally, venue employees must be restricted to working in one individual area for the entirety of an event, each individual event area must be separated by floor-to-ceiling walls and maintain separate entrances and exits, all attendees must be pre-registered, and shared use of restrooms and concessions should be minimized.
Event planners are also required to submit a "Large Gathering Venue COVID-19 Preparedness & Safety Plan" to local health authorities prior to the gathering.
Nevada's 1,000-person cap on conferences, conventions and trade shows and seminars is far higher than the attendance limit on other types of large gatherings in the state. In general, all indoor or outdoor gathering spaces or venues in Nevada will be limited to gatherings of 250 individuals or 50% capacity, depending on whichever is less.
The updated rules go into effect on Oct. 1.
