The revamped Jungle Cruise attraction will open July 16 at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., Disney said this week.
The attraction remains open at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando with ongoing updates to be completed this summer.
Earlier this year, Disney announced it would update the classic attraction to better "reflect the voice and perspectives of the world around us." The updated attraction will include new characters and new scenes along the river.
Along with the news of the attraction's reopening in Disneyland, Disney unveiled a new look at part of the updated Jungle Cruise.
Before the refurbishment, the Jungle Cruise featured an animatronic of the headhunter Trader Sam (also the namesake of two tiki bars, one at the Disneyland Hotel in California and the other at the Polynesian Village Resort in Florida). Now, the last scene on the attraction will instead feature "Trader Sam's Gift Shop."
As Disney said in its Disney Parks Blog, "The Jungle Cruise appears to be going the route of all of the best rides ending with a gift shop!"
