AmaWaterways will launch a new  Africa itinerary next year, combining highlights of several previous Africa offerings.

The 12-day Wildlife & the Falls combines a Botswana Chobe River safari with urban sightseeing in Johannesburg, a guided tour of Victoria Falls and a three-night stay in a luxurious game lodge at South Africa's Kruger National Park.

Prices starting at about $10,700, and the first trip is scheduled for March 12 with 15 departures on the calendar for 2017.

AmaWaterways has offered African voyages since 2012, when it first chartered the 28-passenger Zambezi Queen to sail on the Chobe. With the addition of the new itinerary, the company will have five mixed land-and-river trips in Africa in 2017, all based around four-night safari cruises on the Chobe.
