American Queen Voyages will launch new five- and six-day itineraries on the Lower Mississippi beginning in February.

The shorter itineraries will sail aboard the American Countess and will provide travelers a wider range of cruising options and the flexibility to take in must-see highlights in ports of call along the river within a condensed time.

"We are delighted to offer our guests the opportunity to visit some of their favorite destinations while giving them greater flexibility in their travel plans," said Cindy D'Aoust, president of American Queen Voyages. "For new cruisers, our shorter voyages provide an introduction to river cruising and gives them a taste of all there is to explore without having to take too much time away."

The itineraries will sail roundtrip from New Orleans beginning Feb. 17 and Feb. 21, stopping in Louisiana ports such as St. Francisville and Nottoway. Fares begin at $2,399 per person.
