Flights between Paris and New York will be the first to offer the new Air France first-class cabin this spring on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The new La Premiere cabin will have four suites, each nearly 38 square feet, which Air France says is 25% larger than the current La Premiere configuration. Air France flies its existing La Premiere cabin on U.S. routes to New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington Dulles and Miami.

The new cabins will feature a plush, adjustable seat. Opposite the seat, a chaise longue offers the opportunity to stretch out while remaining seated, ideal for reading or watching a movie. The chaise lounge extends into a bed with a length of nearly 6.5 feet.

The perimeter cabins will align with five windows, a feature that Air France says is unique in the airline industry. The two center suites will be separated by an electric sliding partition that can be combined for shared travel with a simple button touch. Floor-to-ceiling curtains will enclose the outside of all the suites. Seatback entertainment screens will have a width of 32 inches.

Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith said the new La Premiere offering is a key step in the airline's effort to ramp up its appeal to high-end flyers.

"We continue to invest in state-of-the-art products for our customers at every step of their journey, with the aim of positioning Air France at the highest level worldwide," Smith said.

The cabin will also be introduced on Boeing 777-300ERs flying from Paris to Los Angeles, Singapore and Tokyo Haneda during the summer.
