New discount carrier Breeze Airways will make Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip its first destination in the New York metropolitan area and its 17th overall.
Breeze will fly four times weekly between Islip and Norfolk, Va., beginning Feb. 17. The carrier will also launch twice-weekly Islip-Charleston, S.C. service on Feb. 18.
Along with Islip, Breeze will add West Palm Beach, Fla., to its network, with weekly service to and from six destinations beginning Feb. 19. Those destinations are Akron, Ohio; Charleston, S.C.; Columbus, Ohio; New Orleans; Norfolk and Richmond, Va.
Islip and West Palm Beach will be first destinations Breeze has added since the airline debuted in May.
