Discount Colombian carrier Viva Air will launch its second U.S. route in June, servicing Orlando from its hub in Medellin.

The three times per week service begins June 10.

Viva has been offering its other U.S. route, between Medellin and Miami, since 2015.

The carrier will compete against Spirit Airlines on Medellin-Orlando. Viva said Wednesday that it expects its presence on the route to cause a 20% reduction in market rate fares.

Viva Air flyers will be able to connect from Medellin to the airline's network of 12 other Colombian cities as well as nearby destinations in other South American countries, such as Lima, Peru.
