Delta Air Lines and Italy's new flag carrier, ITA Airways, have signed a reciprocal codeshare agreement.

Effective Dec. 22, ITA's code will be placed on Delta-operated flights to 92 destinations, and Delta will place its code on ITA-operated flights to 33 destinations.

Both carriers are part of the SkyTeam alliance.

ITA Airways is fully owned by Italy's government and is the successor to Alitalia, which halted operations in October.
