Frontier Airlines unveiled its first Airbus A321neo on Tuesday at an event in Tampa. It is the first of 158 A321neo aircraft that Frontier is slated to receive by 2029.

Featuring a dense configuration of 240 seats with no first-class cabin, Frontier is touting the aircraft for its fuel efficiency, which it said will amount to 120 miles per gallon, per seat.

In comparison, American Airlines' A321neo planes have 20 first-class seats and 176 in the main cabin.

Frontier CEO Barry Biffle called the A321neo "the most fuel-efficient aircraft in operation among major U.S. airlines."
