American Airlines will restore hot food service at selected Admirals Club lounges later this month.

The carrier will restore hot complimentary items, such as scrambled eggs for breakfast and macaroni and cheese for lunch, on Aug. 12.

For-sale food items, including hot sandwiches and deep-dish pizza, will be available starting Aug. 19. Lounge goers will purchase those items using QR codes.

The hot food items will augment the pre-packaged cold snacks and full-service bar selections that American has had available since Admirals Club lounges began reopening on June 22.

The carrier said lounges in Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago O'Hare will be among those that will have hot food service this month.
