Emirates will begin operating reconfigured Airbus A380s with premium economy cabins in the U.S. market this winter.

The aircraft will debut on the carrier's New York JFK-Dubai service on Dec. 1. On Feb. 15, Emirates will begin flying a refurbished A380 between San Francisco and Dubai.

Emirates recently announced plans to invest more than $2 billion on its in-flight experience, including interior retrofits of more than 120 A380s and Boeing 777s.

The reconfigured A380s are already flying elsewhere in the Emirates network.
