Airports in Houston, San Antonio and Austin, Texas, closed for a second straight day as extreme winter weather continues to cripple the state.
At the Austin and San Antonio airports, all departures and arrivals were canceled. At Houston Bush Intercontinental and Houston Hobby, airfields are closed until 4 p.m. local time.
Dallas-Fort Worth Airport remains open but with a limited schedule. The airport has advised travelers to check their flight schedule and to arrive extra early.
Dallas recorded a temperature of minus-2 overnight, tied for the coldest recorded in the city since 1900. Cities across central Texas received approximately half a foot of snow over the holiday weekend, and a second round of winter weather advisories are in effect across the state beginning this evening.
Airlines have issued travel waivers throughout Texas an into Oklahoma.
