Southwest has set routes and the launch date for its upcoming service introduction at Miami Airport.
The carrier will fly a combined 12 daily frequencies from the Magic City, with service to Baltimore, Chicago Midway, Houston Hobby and Tampa. Each route begins Nov. 15, according to a Miami Airport press release.
The carrier will fly four dailies from Miami to Baltimore and Houston, three dailies to Tampa, and one daily to Chicago.
Southwest will compete on the Baltimore route with American, according to the website Flight Connections. The carrier will also compete against American on Miami-Tampa, with Delta joining the fray in December.
Southwest will be alone in flying from Miami to Midway but will compete in the Miami-Chicago market with American, Frontier and United.
Similarly, no other carrier flies Miami-Hobby, according to Flight Connections, although American and United connect Miami with Houston Bush.
Southwest said last month that it would begin flying to Miami this year. The service will augment the carrier's existing South Florida service to Fort Lauderdale and to Palm Beach.
