United Airlines' hub at Washington Dulles International Airport is about to get an upgrade of more than $500 million.

In partnership with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and with funding from local and federal authorities, United will invest in the revamp, which will include the construction of Concourse E, dedicated to United.

The 435,000-square-foot concourse will have 14 gates, a new 40,000-square-foot United Club and "direct and easy access" to the airport's Aerotrain station, United said.

The new concourse is expected to open in late 2026.

United didn't specify its investment amount, but noted the Dulles expansion and modernization is in line with similar investments at Denver, Houston Bush Intercontinental and Newark airports.
