Hertz introduced an offshoot smartphone app of its NeverLost navigation system that provides information on U.S. destinations.
Hertz’s NeverLost Companion, which users can download for free from Apple’s iTunes and Google Play, includes guides to about 40 U.S. cities.
The app’s trip-planning and navigation features include maps, restaurant listings and weather reports as well as information on local parks, events and tours.
Hertz calls NeverLost Companion the “first-of-its-kind travel destination app among major car rental companies.”
Hertz launched its NeverLost navigation system in 1995.
