Eco-luxury brand 1 Hotels has opened the 1 West Hollywood.
Formerly the Jeremy, the 285-room property has undergone a transformation.
Property owner and operator Starwood Capital Group said the hotel's earthy
design is inspired by the beauty and simplicity of raw materials: reclaimed
timber and steel, recycled fiber carpeting, abundant native greenery and stonework.
The reception desk is crafted from lumber sourced from naturally fallen trees.
Los Angeles-based J. Alexander hand-crafted the lobby furniture.
Among the hotel's conservation practices are the inclusion
of native and adaptive vegetation, a smart irrigation system that determines
when soil needs water, an organic vegetable garden, neighboring beehive and
100-year old olive trees.
1 Kitchen by Chris Crary serves a menu of locally sourced
California cuisine with Italian influences. The Juniper Tree bar and lounge
serves cocktails, Mediterranean wines, local craft beers and refined bar
snacks.
A renovated plunge pool and lounge deck overlooks West
Hollywood. The 1 West Hollywood also has 14,000 square feet of flexible event
space.
