AMResorts eyes 2022 debut for a Dreams resort in Mazatlan

AMResorts has broken ground on the Dreams Estrella del Mar Mazatlan, a $70 million-plus beachfront resort located just south of Mazatlan on Mexico's Pacific coast.

Scheduled to open in December 2022, the all-inclusive property will be part of the 900-acre Estrella del Mar gated community, which is also home to an 18-hole golf course and the John Jacobs Golf School.

The project will feature 350 guestrooms, including 29 swim-out suites, as well as a separate adults-only section. Guests will have access to five restaurants, multiple pools and an aquatic park and lazy river.

Other highlights will include a theater, a convention center and an 1,800-square-foot spa and wellness center, which will offer treatment rooms with private terraces and a hydrotherapy area with whirlpools, a sauna and a hammam, among other amenities.

The Dreams Estrella del Mar Mazatlan will be 20th Dreams Resorts & Spas-branded property in AMResorts' portfolio as well as the group's 36th resort in Mexico.
