Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will reopen Paris' iconic
Hotel de Crillon on July 5 after a four-year renovation, and has started taking
reservations.
Rosewood said it would provide details of the property's
upgrades at a later date.
Located on Place de la Concorde, the 124-room hotel occupies
a structure that dates from 1758 and had operated as a hotel for more than a
century. The hotel, Rosewood's first in Paris, was quoting rates on Thursday
starting at about $1,500 for its opening night.
Located at the foot of the Champs-Elysees, Hotel de Crillon
opened in 1758 as a government building. Two decades later, it was the site
where U.S. and French dignitaries signed documents recognizing the Declaration
of Independence. The building opened as a hotel in 1909.
Rosewood announced that it was taking over the hotel in late
2013. The property was previously operated by Concorde Hotels.
Correction: The hotel will have 124 rooms when it reopens. Prior to the renovation, it had 147 rooms, as a previous version of the article stated.
