The Dunlin, an Auberge Resorts Collection resort in South Carolina, is slated to open in 2024.

Construction on the coastal resort in the Kiawah River community is scheduled to begin in January.

Plans call for 72 cottage-style guestrooms and suites plus 19 villas. Common areas will include a main lodge with a wraparound porch, a library lounge, a 10,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor event hall and a riverfront swim and fitness facility.

Kiawah River, a master-planned community, has multiple working farms including the Goatery goat dairy, an heirloom beef cattle ranch and a community-supported agriculture program that delivers fresh local food to residents and resort restaurants.

Located on Johns Island, the 2,000-acre community has 20 miles of riverfront, nature trails and marshlands.

Activities in and around the estuary include fly fishing, crabbing, boat excursions, paddle boarding, hiking and cycling.
