Capella Hotel Group has unveiled Patina Hotels & Resorts, a new lifestyle brand.

Capella said Patina is targeted toward “a new generation of travelers” and promises to emphasize vibrant social spaces and sustainability. The brand plans to play in resort and urban destinations.

“Patina Hotels & Resorts will become a new leader in progressive hospitality,” said Nicholas Clayton, CEO of Capella Hotel Group. “Focusing on creating a seamless experience, the brand is refreshing, dynamic and modern, appealing to the blended lifestyle of today’s curious and conscious consumer.”

The concept’s inaugural resort will be the Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, which will feature 90 villas ranging from one- to three-bedrooms and 20 studio accommodations.

The Maldives property will be part of the new multi-branded Fari Islands resort development, which is set to open in the North Male Atoll in the fourth quarter of this year. The development will also be home to Capella and Ritz-Carlton resorts.

Plans for Patina properties in Ubud, Bali; and Sanya, China are also in the pipeline.
