Carlson Hotels to restructure organization

MINNEAPOLIS -- Carlson Hotels Worldwide, whose brands include Regent International and Radisson Hotels & Resorts, announced a new global organizational structure aimed at integrating the hotel company across all brands in its three major markets: Asia-Pacific; the Americas; and Europe/Middle East/Africa.

As part of the move, Carlson appointed Paul Kirwin managing director of Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, a new office that will be based in Singapore.

Kirwin currently is president of Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, a position he will leave in August. A replacement for Kirwin, as well as details about the structure of Carlson's other markets, will be announced in the coming weeks, the company said.

"With Carlson hotel brands operating in 813 locations in 63 countries, our goal is to provide the most efficient and effective support platform for all our brands in the world's primary economic theaters," said Jay Witzel, executive vice president of Carlson Hotels Worldwide.

Other Carlson brands include Park Plaza and Park Inn hotels.
