A developer plans a 216-room resort operated by Four Seasons on the site of the former Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in Naples, Fla.

With 1,000 feet of beach, the site is one of the largest oceanfront properties in Naples.

The current structure dates to 1929 and includes 319 rooms.

The Athens Group and MSD Partners announced that they have acquired the site and will be redeveloping it into the Naples Beach Club, a 125-acre resort and residential beachfront development. In addition to a hotel, the project will include 185 luxury residences.

Discovery Land Company will be in charge of club amenities.

The Athens Group has been involved in developing the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii, the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch in Colorado, Montage Laguna Beach in California and Montage Deer Valley, Utah, among other projects.

MSD Partners, whose ownership includes the family investment office for Michael Dell, the founder and CEO of computer maker Dell Technologies, is also an investor in other Four Seasons resorts.

Hotels already operate in the state under the Four Seasons badge in Miami, Surfside, Palm Beach and Orlando.
