InterContinental Hotels Group CEO Richard Solomons will retire this summer after a quarter century with the company and its predecessor organizations.

Solomons will officially step down as CEO on July 30 and will retire from the company the following month. He will be succeeded by Keith Barr, who is IHG's chief commercial officer and has been with the company for almost 17 years.
Solomons joined IHG predecessor Bass Plc in 1992. He was promoted to CEO from CFO in 2011.
