The Jamaica Tourist Board has launched a website to promote small
hotels, inns, villas and guest houses.
The site, JamaicaInnsandHotels.com, lists more than 300 properties,
all of which have 100 or fewer guestrooms.
"Trends in the hospitality industry indicate that
travelers are opting for intimate experiences such as those offered by boutique
properties, said Marcia McLaughlin, the Jamaica Tourist Board's deputy director
of tourism marketing. "Empowering Jamaica's vibrant small accommodations
sector is critical for the destination to maximize the benefits of this growing
market, and we anticipate this marketing resource will be extremely beneficial."
The Jamaica Tourist Board is funding the platform, making it
free for property owners to participate. Properties can manage their own
content, room inventory, property images, discounts and offerings. Guests can
book online or call for reservations.
