Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will open a resort in Grenada in early 2019, its second property in the Caribbean following the debut of the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa on Grand Cayman last November.
The 146-key cliff-side Kimpton Kawana Bay Resort will overlook Grand Anse Beach on the southwest coast near the capital of St. George's.
A number of Kawana Bay's 45 suites will include private pools, and 12 additional penthouse apartments will be available for sale to private owners.
The resort's name pays tribute to the island's leatherback turtles, dubbed kawana by the Carib Indians who settled the island in 1300 AD.
