Loews Hotels will return to the state of Texas for the first
time in 24 years when it opens a luxury hotel in 2019 as part of the Texas Live
entertainment and sports district near Dallas.
Live by Loews will have 302 rooms, including 26 suites, and
will feature a 35,000-square-foot Grand Event Center for meetings and
conventions as well as a bar and beer-tasting room with a working microbrewery.
The 14-story property will also have amenities such as an
infinity pool as well as a 40-foot-tall veranda area "cutout" in the
middle of the hotel tower.
The hotel will be part of the Texas Live entertainment
project whose first phase will open in 2018 in Arlington, about 20 miles west
of Dallas.
The $250 million project will be developed in part by the
Cordish Cos. and the Texas Rangers baseball team. The club will open its new
ballpark adjacent to the district as soon as 2020.
Loews last operated in Texas when it ran the Loews Anatole
in Dallas. That hotel was reflagged by Wyndham in 1995 and is now the Hilton
Anatole.
