Mandarin Oriental will enter the Caribbean in November when the luxury resort operator takes over the recently opened Pink Sands Club on Canouan Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Mandarin Oriental Canouan, which is located on the island's Godahl Beach, will have 38 units, including 26 suites and a dozen three- and four-bedroom villas. All units have ocean views, while the villas will also have private pools.

Guests will also have access to an 18-hole Jim Fazio-designed golf course and two overwater spa treatment cabanas that are accessible only by boat, as well as activities such as kayaking, sailing, fishing and tennis.

The Pink Sands Club opened last fall with amenities that included touch-screen tablet devices enabled to set room temperatures and allow guests to review resort services and TVs that embedded in mirrored sliding doors near the bed.

Canouan Island is a five-square-mile island that's a 20-minute flight from locations such as Barbados and St. Lucia and a half-hour boat ride from Tobago Cays Marine Park. The Canouan Jet Port, with a newly expanded runway, can land private jets up to a 737 or Airbus 319.

Mandarin Oriental will also add a private residences project in 2020.
