The 1,205-room Marriott Marquis Chicago will open adjacent to the city’s McCormick Place this fall.

Located in the city's South Loop district, the hotel will be connected to the convention center, the country’s largest, and will have 93,000 square feet of its own meeting space, including a 4,000-square-foot event space on the building's 33rd floor with views of Lake Michigan.

The 40-story hotel will be designed by Gensler, whose hotel projects include downtown Los Angeles' Ritz-Carlton Hotel and JW Marriott, the SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and the Grand Hyatt Incheon.

At 1,205 rooms, the hotel will be Chicago's sixth-largest, behind the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Palmer House, Hilton Chicago, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and Sheraton Grand Chicago.
