The Montage Palmetto
Bluff in South Carolina's Lowcountry has completed its $100 million expansion.
The resort, located on 20,000
acres near the state’s southern border with
Georgia, boosted its room count to 200 from 50. Additions include The Inn,
which is located along a lagoon and includes the Spa Montage. The Inn’s design was
inspired by the 1910 mansion former Palmetto Bluff owner Richard T. Wilson
built on the property that burnt down in 1926.
All told, Montage Palmetto Bluff features six
restaurants and lounges, and three pool areas. The resort now also includes 35
single-family houses ranging from 2,200 to 4,200 square feet. Purchase prices
for the Montage Residences Palmetto Bluff start at $1.4 million.
The expansion was announced in
2013 when Montage said it would take over management of the resort the
following year.
