Mr. C Hotels is slated to open its first New York hotel by end
of the year.
The Mr. C brand is owned by the Cipriani family, known for
its restaurants around the world, including the landmark Harry's Bar in Venice.
The first Mr. C hotel opened in Beverly Hills in 2011.
The New York hotel, to be named
the Mr. C Seaport, formerly was a Best Western Plus. A complete interior
reconstruction is planned. The property's brick façade will remain.
The redevelopers are Bob and Alex Ghassemieh, who built the
Mr. C hotel in Beverly Hills.
The New York hotel, which offers views of the Brooklyn
Bridge, is three blocks from the Seaport District’s Pier 17, which is being
redeveloped by Howard Hughes Corp.
