New York City is the best place for Pokemon Go players
looking for top-notch “Poketels," or hotels closest to the most PokeStops
and PokeGyms, according to research from Hotels.com.
Hotels.com found the hotels with the most Pokestops and
Pokegyms within or nearby the hotel, and nine of 10 were in New York. The top
was the Towers at Lotte New York Palace, which has 11 Pokestops and/or Pokegyms
within 500 feet of the hotel, and 231 more within 1.25 miles.
San Francisco was the only other city with a hotel breaching
the top 10, with the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco claiming spot No. 9 with
eight stops/gyms within 500 feet, and 103 more within 1.25 miles.
The other New York hotels making the list, in order, were
Apartment 804, St. Regis New York, Broome NYC, Peninsula New York, Baccarat
Hotel and Residences New York, Renaissance New York Midtown, Library Hotel and NoMad
Hotel.
Hotels.com also did a survey of more than 500 millennial
travelers in the U.S. The survey found 79% are playing Pokemon Go, and 48% would
consider visiting a new location because of the game.
