Pod Hotels' first non-NYC property opens in Washington

Pod Hotels, which operates three New York City hotels known for their micro-sized, hyper-designed rooms, has opened its first property outside of New York in Washington's Penn Quarter/Chinatown district.

Pod DC, which is located within walking distance to the Smithsonian Museums and the Verizon Center, has 245 rooms and features a mid-century-modern-influenced design as well as artwork from local artists and photographs of the city in its public spaces.

The hotel also includes the southern-cuisine restaurant, the Crimson Diner; the Crimson Whiskey Bar; and a rooftop lounge, Crimson View.

The hotel is owned and operated by Washington-based Modus Hotels.

Pod Hotels also has two Manhattan properties and one in Brooklyn.
