NEW YORK -- Relais & Chateaux, a worldwide association of small
upscale hotels and restaurants, added 40 members for 2001.
With the new arrivals, the organization totals 452 members in 47
countries. Twenty of the new members are in Europe, five in the
U.S., four in South Africa, and two in Australia, the first Relais
& Chateaux establishments in the country.
The U.S. additions to Relais & Chateaux include the Melhana
Grand Plantation in Thomasville, Ga.; the Gastonian Inn in
Savannah, Ga.; Seeger's, an Atlanta restaurant; Goldener Hirsch
Inn, in Park City, Utah, and the Grove Isle Club & Resort in
Coconut Grove, Fla.
Other new arrivals include single hotels in Ireland, Japan,
Malta, Slovenia, Germany and Sweden.
