The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, a hotel that uses the Ritz-Carlton name under a licensing
agreement, will fully join the brand in August.
Guests will be able to make reservations on www.ritzcarlton.com and will be eligible for benefits of the Ritz-Carlton Rewards guest loyalty program. Sage Hospitality will continue to operate the hotel.
Since its opening in 1975, the hotel has used
the Ritz-Carlton name under a licensing agreement with a predecessor of
the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, which by its terms did not provide for
full integration into the Ritz-Carlton system, Ritz-Carlton said.
The 40-year-old hotel occupies the 15th through 30th floors of Water Tower Place on Chicago’s Magnificent
Mile. It will be renovated during the next two years, Ritz-Carlton said.
The hotel, which has 429 rooms and more than 21,000 feet of meeting space, is
Chicago’s only Ritz-Carlton.
