Standard Hotels is bringing its brand overseas, with the
lifestyle brand's first non-U.S. outpost scheduled to open in London later this
year.
Housed in a historic building in the city's King's Cross
district, The Standard London will feature 266 guestrooms designed by Shawn
Hausman Design, with a number of rooms featuring outdoor terraces overlooking
St. Pancras Station.
The hotel's culinary programming will be helmed by chefs
Adam Rawson and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias. The pair will spearhead plans for an indoor-outdoor
garden restaurant as well as a "destination" rooftop venue.
The Standard's existing five-hotel footprint includes two
properties in New York City as well as outposts in Miami Beach, downtown Los
Angeles and Hollywood, Calif.
