President Donald Trump said that his planned presidential library in downtown Miami will likely have a hotel component.
The waterfront project was unveiled earlier this week, when Eric Trump, the president's son and executive vice president of The Trump Organization, posted a video rendering on X.
Asked by a reporter about the scope of the skyscraper, Trump said it would most likely be "a hotel with a beautiful building underneath, and a 747 Air Force One in the lobby." He added that the project could also include office space.
Trump said that construction on the project would not begin until he leaves office.
Trump contrasted his project with the soon-to-open Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, which he characterized as being in a poor location and "a very unattractive building that's seriously late and seriously over budget." He said his library would be delivered on time and on budget as well as occupy what he called "the best block in Miami."
The Trump Organization's Trump Hotels subsidiary operates the Trump National Doral Miami golf resort in Doral, Fla.
