Universal Orlando Resort’s shopping and dining destination, CityWalk, will partially reopen on May 14. CityWalk, like the rest of the resort, has been closed since mid-March.

CityWalk will be open daily from 4-10 p.m. but Universal said operating hours are subject to change.

Food locations that will be open are Red Oven Pizza Bakery, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant & Market, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville (outside seating and Lone Palm area only), Voodoo Doughnut and Auntie Anne’s. They will have limited menus and seating.

The Universal Studios Store, Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company’s retail shop, some merchandise carts and Hollywood Drive-In Golf will also be open.

Universal has taken some precautionary measures for its reopening. Employees will be subject to temperature screening. They will wear face coverings.

Guests, too, will undergo temperature checks. Only those with temperatures under 100.4 degrees will be able to enter. Guests will also have to wear face coverings (they will be available for purchase).

Venues will have limited capacities to aid in social distancing. Chairs and tables will be cleaned and disinfected after each seating.

High-touch surfaces will undergo frequent cleaning and disinfection.

Self-parking will be complimentary. Cashless payments will be available at all venues.

Universal said its hotels and theme parks remain closed through at least May 31.

The CityWalk announcement follows news that Disney’s shopping and dining area, Disney Springs, will begin a phased reopening on May 20.
