Rob Katz, who has led Vail Resorts since 2006, will step down as CEO, effective Nov. 1.
He'll be succeeded by Kirsten Lynch, a 10-year Vail veteran and company's current chief marketing officer.
Katz will remain with Vail as executive chair of the company's board of directors.
"With our company having just navigated the most challenging period in its history and coming out stronger than when it began, this is the right time for me to take a step back and play a different role at Vail Resorts," Katz said.
