Virgin Hotels has unveiled plans for a Miami hotel and
residential complex.
Construction of the building is set to begin next year, and
an opening is slated for 2023.
Located in the city’s Brickell neighborhood, the 40-story
hotel will have 250 guestrooms, 15 floors of furnished residential units, a spa
and 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The Virgin Hotels Miami will house several food and beverage
venues, including Commons Club -- the brand’s signature restaurant, bar and
“modern social club” -- and a beer garden that will also function as a live
music venue.
The hotel’s Funny Library Coffee Shop will showcase coffee
from Laughing Man, a brand co-founded by actor Hugh Jackman, and offer guests
access to communal workspace.
A three-floor terraced rooftop venue, featuring a pool and
lounge, will also be available for events.
The Virgin Hotels Miami will join the brand’s existing portfolio
of hotels in Chicago, San Francisco and Dallas (soon to open).
Other Virgin hotels are under development in New York,
Nashville, New Orleans, Edinburgh, Palm Springs and the Silicon Valley. The
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, which is undergoing renovations ahead
of a rebranding, is scheduled to reopen as under the Virgin brand next year.
