W Hotels has unveiled its first North American mountain resort with this week's opening of the W Aspen.
Located slope-side on Aspen Mountain with ski-in/ski-out access, the W Aspen has 88 guestrooms, including four of the brand's signature WOW suites and one Extreme WOW suite that can be set up as either a one-bedroom, two-bedroom or three-bedroom accommodation. The property also includes 11 W-branded residences.
All guestrooms and suites feature interiors inspired by classic Swiss chalet architecture and are outfitted with rustic wood finishes, sloped rooflines and a fireplace-inspired minibar design. Additionally, select guestrooms at the W Aspen showcase the flag's first quad-queen bunk bed accommodations, which can sleep up to eight and, according to the brand, "cater to a younger adult clientele."
The W Aspen houses several food and beverage outlets, including the hotel's second-floor Living Room, which features a bar, suspended DJ booth and an outdoor fire pit area, and 39 Degrees, a lounge and cocktail bar inspired by Aspen's turn-of-the-century era red light district.
Perched above the property is WET Deck, which W claims is Aspen's only year-round, all-weather public rooftop venue. Promising panoramic mountain views, WET Deck also features a heated pool, hot tub, fire pits, cabanas, a full bar, dance floor and DJ booth.
From November through April, ski and snowboard equipment rentals and sales will be available at the W Aspen's Strategy Rooms ski and snowboarding shop, which will be operated by Four Mountain Sports. Between May and October, the Strategy Rooms space will host a variety of art, fashion and music programming, as well as be available for private events and weddings.
