MIAMI -- Far & Wide Travel Corp. began to implement a plan for
structural reorganization and consolidation that executives say
will improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The company, which includes 19 tour operations, integrated its
departments for air, operations, groups and phone calls. It also
reorganized the functions between its offices in Miami, Englewood
Cliffs, N.J.; London and Rome.
The process will include layoffs, though a spokeswoman for the
company said it is not yet known how many.
