Perillo Tours, an Italy tour specialist, will launch two new tours to the country next year.
The new itineraries are both nine days, including longer stays in cities, which owner Steve Perillo said gives travelers a way to more deeply explore the country.
The Gems of Italy tour travels through the heart of Italy, visiting Genoa and Florence. Travelers begin their journey in Genoa, a port city known for its medieval charm. From there, travelers will hunt for truffles in Piedmont region, visit Cinque Terre seaside villages and explore Venice. The itinerary includes four nights in Florence.
La Dolce Vita itinerary spends three nights in Rome and four nights in Sorrento. Travelers will visit the Colosseum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica in Rome; go to the Pompeii ruins; and enjoy excursions along the Amalfi Coast, including in Capri and Positano. Itinerary highlights include sailing to the Isle of Capri and visiting the Grotta Bianca sea cave.
"This style of itinerary is something we've found our guests really value," Perillo said. "By anchoring the itinerary in just two Italian cities, our guests can settle in and explore each destination, and its surrounding region, in more depth."
Perillo will offer 13 itineraries to Italy next year, including the Rome & Amalfi Coast tour capped at 30 guests and Taste of Sicily: Taormina and Palermo, which features four nights in Taormina and three nights in Palermo.
