Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand Journese are expanding a 10% discount for military personnel to include medical workers and first responders and their immediate families.

That includes professionals who work in America’s hospitals and medical offices as well as to paramedics, firefighters and police officers.

Similarly, AmaWaterways recently launched what is essentially a 2-for-1 river cruise offer for medical personnel and first responders.

“We are forever grateful to the frontline first responders and medical personnel who worked so tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic.” said Pleasant Holidays CEO Jack Richards. “An extension of the discount program we’ve offered to our nation’s military personnel since 2011, this discount is intended to help them enjoy some well-deserved rest and recovery time with the people who mean the most to them.”

Under AmaWaterways’ program, all medical professionals, first responders and employees of essential services are eligible to receive a complimentary future cruise certificate that can be used through the end of 2021 with one paying guest in the same stateroom.

"There are none more deserving of a river cruise vacation than today's frontline heroes: the doctors, nurses, paramedics and other frontline medical professionals who are diligently helping others and inspiring hope during these challenging times," said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways.

"To express our deepest gratitude, we hope to welcome these very special individuals and their loved ones on an unforgettable river cruise as soon as we resume sailing."
