Hoping to tap into the early stages of post-Covid 19 travel,
Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand Journese launched an “Explore America Getaways Sale” that
focuses on secondary, less densely populated domestic destinations.
The special offers a free mid-size Hertz rental for each
hotel night booked, up to three nights.
Pleasant Holidays CEO Jack Richards said the company had
been working on the partnership for a while and decided to launch it this week
after hotel data firm STR found that secondary markets loosening travel
restrictions this month began seeing significant increases in weekend
occupancy.
“We went through those individual markets, and we carried a
lot of those markets,” he said. “Those are the markets we’re offering.”
Destinations include Santa Barbara, Carmel, Monterey and the
Napa/Sonoma wine regions in California; Hilton Head and Charleston, South
Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; Lake Tahoe;
Nashville; San Antonio; as well as Florida beaches from Clearwater to Key West
and states like New Mexico.
“We’re still marketing Las Vegas, Orlando and New York but
we fully realize people are not going to want to go to these densely populated
areas,” he said. “They want to go to the Albuquerques.”
The special is good for bookings made by July 19, 2020, for
travel through March 31, 2021.
