NEW YORK -- The U.S. Tour Operators Association scheduled the inaugural USTOA/Travelers Conservation Foundation (TCF) Leadership Summit & Auction for Oct. 25 to 28 at the Melia Caribe Tropical in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Hosted by Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts, this conference contains a triple purpose.

Its primary function is to raise funds for the nonprofit TCF in order to support its mission of protecting the world's natural, cultural and historic treasures.

Money will be raised through the sponsorship of various activities during the event such as the golf tournament, and through live and silent auctions of donated merchandise.

A second purpose for the event is to bring together travel professionals in an informal setting for networking. The third function is to promote the Dominican Republic and Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts.

Event sponsors or buyers participating in the auction are not required to be USTOA members.
