Chicago-based Vacations By Rail has added six new train vacations in North America, Europe and South America.
The new vacations include the 11-day Memphis-New Orleans Rail-River Journey comprised of a train ride aboard Amtrak’s City of New Orleans train from Chicago to Memphis, followed by a river cruise aboard the 436-passenger American Queen from Memphis to New Orleans.
In Canada, the 10-day Rail Through the Canadian Rockies escorted tour includes an all-day journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer between Vancouver and Banff and an overnight rail trip between Jasper and Vancouver aboard VIA Rail’s Canadian, with stops in Banff, Jasper National Park, Lake Louise and Vancouver.
The 10-day Best of Western Europe: London, Paris, and Amsterdam independent vacation consists of three nights in both London and Amsterdam and two nights in Paris, city orientation tours, transportation in each city, and rail travel aboard the high-speed Eurostar and Thalys trains.
There are two new escorted tours in England and Italy.
Also new to the lineup is an eight-day escorted tour to Lima, Cusco, and Machu Picchu on a new Highlights of Peru vacation that includes a ride on the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu, a visit to the Sacred Valley, and sightseeing in Lima and Cusco.
Vacations By Rail’s train tours include hotel accommodations, some meals and sightseeing.
