The National Association of Career Travel Agents (Nacta) has
designated the entire month of May as National Travel Consultant Month, and the
group is offering a number of prizes and free webinars to mark the occasion.
“This is the first year celebrating travel consultants for
an entire month, and [we] will continue to celebrate this event every May,”
said Lisa Watson, Nacta’s director of marketing and communications.
Nacta, a trade association for independent contractors and
traditional agencies that provide services to independent agents, comprises
1,700 members and is an affiliate of ASTA.
The prizes and free webinars are available for all travel
agents, members and nonmembers alike (including those who are not independent
agents). Agents who are not Nacta members can use the coupon code NACTA30 for
savings throughout the month.

Watson said that more prizes are being added to the May
promotion each week at www.nacta.com/travelconsultantmonth.
Participants are entered into weekly drawings to win gift cards, complimentary
subscriptions and other prizes.

sponsoring webinars, she said. “They recognize the value of the independent
travel consultant and the work they do every day on behalf of the clients.”

Also as part of the monthlong promotion, Nacta members are
invited to bring a fellow agent as a guest to their local chapter meetings.
