Tony Maupin, founder and president of North Carolina corporate agency Maupin Travel, has sold the company to Trevor and Jordan Smith.

Trevor Smith will serve as the company’s president and will work closely with Maupin, who is now director of strategic development. Maupin founded the Raleigh-based agency in 1979.

Trevor Smith was most recently vice president at One Equity Group, where he was responsible for raising capital for Travel Leaders Group. Prior to holding these positions, he and Jordan spent time working with various nonprofit organizations in Kenya and South Africa.

The Smiths grew up in Hilton Head Island, S.C., and recently moved to Durham, N.C., to be closer to family and raise their three children in the Triangle.

“We are thrilled to join Maupin Travel,” said Trevor Smith, “and we look forward to continuing to provide the highest-quality, personalized service to our customers. Maupin Travel has built wonderful client relationships with some of the most established businesses and universities in the Southeast. Our primary focus is to continue to serve our customers in a dependable, professional manner.”
