FORT WORTH, Texas -Sabre introduced FlightFinder, a "fare-led"
pricing tool that enables Sabre-connected agents to search for
flights based on specific fares.
FlightFinder is easier and faster than the previous "manual and
repetitive process" of pricing airline tickets, where agents had to
build an itinerary with origin and destination cities and book
flights before they could price them, Sabre said.
Agents who tested FlightFinder averaged a 66% improvement in
booking time, Sabre said.
Nancy Raynor, senior vice president of emerging business for
Sabre, said FlightFinder functions the way travelers choose their
air travel. "Many sales opportunities begin with passengers
requesting a fare they have seen in the newspaper or heard about on
the radio," she said, and "it is the fare that airlines advertise
and that passengers are most interested in."
Sabre said FlightFinder enables agents to book directly from the
fare display in the CRS, which will show only flights that are
available at the requested fare.
In addition to fare-specific searches, FlightFinder will search
for available seats for up to seven alternate days of travel. This
will relieve agents of the task of having to search through all
flight schedules on multiple days to find travel combinations their
customers want, Sabre said.
FlightFinder is available worldwide for flights that are booked
for travel within and between the U.S., Canada, the Virgin Islands
and Puerto Rico.
