Big News: Hotel de la Ville, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Rome has just added on a two-story penthouse with extra large terraces.
The hotel, housed in a building that was originally an 18th-century palazzo, sits above Rome’s iconic Spanish Steps. It is the sister property to the nearby Hotel de Russie and home to the Irene Forte Spa, acclaimed as one of Rome's top wellness destinations.

The De La Ville Panoramic Penthouse is meant to provide a residential vibe with lots and lots of lovely space. It has six bedrooms, three living rooms and six bathrooms. Twelve guests can hang out here comfortably as the interior square footage totals 3,880 square feet in size. And those terraces, one on each floor, are 4,300 square feet in total. Totally private, they’re designed to provide panoramic views of Rome’s skyline. Think, a private dinner for two or a pretty swell gathering of a large group of friends and proteges.
Nice Touch: Suite guests have access to an “Above and beyond,” experiential journey developed with cultural partner Imago Artis Travel. The program’s itinerary leads guests through several of Rome’s top hidden terraces, domes and sacred landmarks not usually accessible to the public.
Imago Artis Travel, founded by art historians, was named Virtuoso Best On-Site Partner 2025.
